Nick Simpson - Art Direction


BIO

Nick trained at Birmingham University and then St Martins School of Art in London before working for a well known mail order company. Starting work in the creative planning department he worked his way up to a senior art director role at the Shop Direct Group. He worked as across all sections from fashion to home & living end to end producing concepts, layouts, shoot & team planning,art directing stills both in studio and on location, page makeup & final print handover. Since going freelance in 2007 he has gained years of valuable experience art directing and producing shoots across all decks for clients such as George, Primark, Very, John Lewis, Jacamo, Simply Be, Cotton Traders, JD Williams and Lily Ella. He has worked in-house with Hearst magazines end to end on Mens, Ladies, Kids and Back to School campaigns for George and alongside agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi producing concept visuals, scouting locations, putting together creative teams, liaising with production companies and art directing the studio and location shoots covering all assets. Nick is an energetic and creative team motivator, a perfectionist and stickler for detail expecting the best possible results from the team he works with. His extensive knowledge of fashion and interiors has helped him to deliver the right imagery for the specific client.
